| Richard J. Barry, M.D.
Richard J. Barry, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from San Jose State University. After graduation he served in Viet Nam as a United States Air Force pilot. Dr. Barry received his Medical Degree with honors from the University of Mississippi and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Barry then returned to active duty with the Air Force as the Chief of the Orthopaedic Clinic at Travis AFB, CA. Dr. Barry began practice in Davis in 1989, with Davis Orthopaedics and Sportsmedicine Medical Group, since renamed Valley Oak Orthopaedics. Dr. Barry specializes in treatment of surgical and nonsurgical treatment of spinal conditions, with a particular interest in spine microsurgery. Dr. Barry is a national speaker on pain management and medical economics. Dr. Barry is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Barry is board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Spine Surgery. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the California Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Barry is on staff at all local hospitals and surgery centers. |
